Activating your account & depositing money
After you have opened an account a crypto exchange, you still need to go through the activation steps. By uploading a copy of your passport and answering some questions, you complete this process.
You can then deposit funds directly into your crypto exchange account via your NatWest bank account. Please note that some exchanges charge additional fees for depositing & withdrawing funds.
Buying crypto at NatWest
Once your money is added to your crypto account, you can immediately start buying crypto. Keep in mind that it can take up to several days for the money to appear in your account.
Next, navigate to the crypto you want to buy and press the buy button. Then enter the amount you want to invest: you can do this from as little as $10!
In some cases, you might not want to buy the crypto right away. By using an order, you can set the price at which you want to buy the crypto in question.
Then send the order to the crypto exchange to buy your crypto right away! You can then sell your crypto at any time and transfer the money back to your NatWest bank account.
Are crypto exchanges reliable?
By no means are all crypto exchanges equally reliable. In recent years, several crypto exchanges have been hacked or gone bankrupt. Users often lose their entire crypto assets in such cases.
You should therefore spend enough time selecting a reliable exchange. Due to limited regulation, keep in mind that even a reliable exchange can go bankrupt just like that.
Fortunately, you can protect yourself against this: you do this by sending your crypto to an external wallet. However, it is then important not to lose your access codes, as no one can help you if this hapends.
